Security Guard Detained And Disappeared By Pakistani Forces In Balochistan

Balochistan (Pakistan), March 6: A security guard at a law college in Turbat, Balochistan, has reportedly been detained and disappeared by Pakistani security forces, sparking alarm among his family and the local community. The individual, identified as Saeed Baloch, a resident of Sangabad, had worked at the college for several years. Eyewitnesses claim that Baloch was detained by Pakistani forces in the western part of Turbat before vanishing, with his whereabouts currently unknown.

This case is part of a troubling pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where activists and human rights organizations have voiced growing concerns over state-led abductions. The Balochistan Post reported that authorities have yet to issue any official statement regarding Baloch’s disappearance, leaving his family and community in distress.

The report highlights that such incidents are becoming increasingly frequent in the region, raising concerns over the safety of local populations and intensifying demands for accountability. The Baloch National Movement’s human rights division, Paank, recently stated that at least 48 individuals have been forcibly disappeared in the first five days of March alone. Among them, 35 were detained by Pakistani security forces in Kalat before disappearing, and five others were victims of custodial killings.

Paank has called on international human rights organizations to urgently address the situation, stressing that the scale of enforced disappearances in Balochistan is alarming. They warned that the full extent of these human rights violations could not be captured in a single report. The organization has urged global institutions to review Paank’s ongoing daily reports documenting the abuse and called for international intervention to halt the growing crisis.

The situation in Balochistan has been described as a “severe humanitarian crisis,” with Paank accusing the Pakistani state of committing “genocide” against the Baloch people. As the number of disappearances continues to rise, calls for global attention and action are mounting.
