Celebrating BJP’s return to power in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta vows to build a “Viksit Delhi” while accusing previous governments of corruption and misgovernance.
New Delhi [India], March 2 – Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday lashed out at the previous Congress and AAP governments, accusing them of corruption and misgovernance during the 27 years of BJP’s absence from power in the national capital.
Speaking at the Purvanchal BJP Morcha Function at the Delhi BJP office, CM Gupta hailed the BJP’s recent electoral triumph, calling it the result of years of struggle.
“This victory is the result of years of struggle. In the last 27 years of the BJP’s exile, Delhi witnessed scam after scam—whether by the Congress or AAP governments. They looted the people, and we protested against them. We faced lathis and sticks for the people of Delhi, but we never backed down,” she said.
“A New Era for Delhi Begins”
Emphasizing the work ahead, Gupta stated that the BJP’s focus is now on fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Delhi’ (Developed Delhi).
“We are able to celebrate this victory after a long struggle. I congratulate my brothers and sisters of Purvanchal. A new era has started in Delhi, and there is a lot to do. We will work tirelessly to fulfill PM Modi’s dream of a Viksit Delhi,” she added.
The event also saw the felicitation of Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and party MP Manoj Tiwari, who played key roles in the party’s electoral success.
Gupta Slams AAP Over CAG Report, Rs 2,000 Crore Liquor Scam
Gupta also took aim at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing them of creating a ruckus over the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, which flagged a ₹2,000 crore loss due to AAP’s liquor policy.
“All this drama is just an excuse because they cannot accept the facts written in the CAG reports. I will not let even a single penny of the state treasury go to waste,” she asserted.
BJP’s Historic Comeback
The BJP registered a resounding victory in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, marking its return to power after nearly three decades. With the party now in charge, Gupta’s administration is expected to focus on infrastructure, governance reforms, and tackling corruption in the capital.
With Delhi entering a new political phase, all eyes are on how BJP plans to deliver on its promises and reshape the future of the national capital.
