Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India]: The Adani Foundation has joined hands with GEMS Education, a global leader in private K-12 education, to set up educational institutions across the country.
With an initial donation of Rs 2,000 crore from the Adani family, the collaboration aims to make world-class education and top-tier learning infrastructure accessible and affordable for people from all socio-economic backgrounds, the Adani Foundation announced on Monday.
As the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the Adani Group, the foundation is committed to initiatives in education, healthcare, and community development. This partnership aligns with Chairman Gautam Adani’s social philosophy: “Service is meditation, service is prayer, and service is God.”
The initiative will also focus on creating cutting-edge research institutions aimed at enhancing teaching capabilities, fostering innovation, and developing new educational competencies.
Adani GEMS Schools to Launch Nationwide
The first ‘Adani GEMS School of Excellence’ is set to open in Lucknow in the 2025-26 academic year. Over the next three years, at least 20 such K-12 schools will be launched across India’s major metropolitan cities. The initiative will later expand to Tier II to IV cities as well.
Additionally, 30% of seats in these CBSE curriculum schools will be reserved for underprivileged and deserving children, ensuring greater accessibility to quality education.
By leveraging the Adani Group’s national presence and infrastructure expertise, along with GEMS Education’s academic excellence, the collaboration aims to create a scalable, affordable, and sustainable model for quality education across India.
Leaders Speak on the Initiative
“This initiative reflects our commitment to making world-class education affordable and widely accessible,” said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group. “By adopting global best practices and innovative digital learning through our partnership with GEMS Education, we aim to equip the next generation of change-makers to become socially responsible leaders in India.”
Sunny Varkey, Founder and Chairman of GEMS Education, also emphasized the impact of this collaboration, stating: “Our vision has always been to make quality education accessible to every learner, regardless of their socioeconomic background. The collaboration with the Adani Foundation will strengthen us to expand our reach and impact, bringing our global educational expertise to learners and teachers in diverse regions of India.”
