BJP Celebrates Historic Win In Delhi, AAP Faces Setback

New Delhi [India]: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated a landmark victory in the Delhi elections on Saturday, with party leaders including Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, MP Manoj Tiwari, and Bansuri Swaraj gathering at the party headquarters in New Delhi to mark the occasion.

Expressing gratitude to the people of the national capital, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari assured that the party would work towards the city’s development. Taking a swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Tiwari declared that the party had no future in Delhi or anywhere in the country.

“Words fall short to express our happiness. We express our gratitude to the people of Delhi… The people of Delhi have expressed their faith in PM Modi’s guarantee… We will work for the development of Delhi… AAP is finished… AAP has no future in Delhi, Punjab, and the country…” Tiwari told media.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and New Delhi constituency candidate Parvesh Verma, along with Manjinder Singh Sirsa, visited Gurudwara Bangla Sahib to offer prayers. Verma thanked the voters for their overwhelming support, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the victory.

“Delhi’s people have given a huge mandate to the BJP. We will respect it, and I congratulate the people of Delhi from the bottom of my heart… The credit for this victory goes to Prime Minister Modi… We have many challenges ahead of us, but we have the support of the PM….” Verma said.

The celebrations extended beyond Delhi, as BJP workers in Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand rejoiced over the party’s triumph. Jairam Thakur, Leader of the Opposition in Himachal Pradesh, hailed the victory as historic and expressed his appreciation to the voters.

“This is a historic victory. I congratulate PM Narendra Modi and party President JP Nadda, and I thank the people of Delhi for this historic mandate… The nation is celebrating BJP’s victory in Delhi…” Thakur remarked.

The BJP’s landslide win marks its return to power in Delhi after 27 years, displacing AAP, which suffered significant losses, including the defeat of its leader and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in his stronghold.

This outcome follows BJP’s recent successes in Maharashtra and Haryana, further strengthening its political dominance. The party secured 45 out of 70 seats in Delhi and is leading in three more, while AAP managed to win 21 seats and is leading in one.
