New Delhi [India], January 25: On National Voters Day, AAP Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal extended his heartfelt wishes to the citizens of India, urging them to protect the sanctity of their vote.
Kejriwal called on voters to remain vigilant against attempts to buy votes through money or gifts, referencing a video he shared on Friday. He reminded everyone of the power granted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, stressing that the right to vote should never be for sale.
Taking to X, Kejriwal wrote, “Best wishes to all of you on National Voters Day. Beware of those who want to buy your vote with money or gifts. Baba Saheb gave us the power to vote, we should never sell it. Your vote not only speaks your voice but also decides the future of the country. Choose right, choose work.”
In his video, Kejriwal accused the BJP of openly distributing money, gifts, and other items to influence votes, urging Delhi voters to reject these tactics and safeguard the election process.
“These elections in Delhi are different. One and a half months before the elections, money, shoes, bedsheets, sarees, ration, and gold chains are being openly distributed. There is no fear of the Election Commission or anyone stopping them. The distribution is happening under police protection, ensuring it reaches only voters,” Kejriwal claimed.
He criticized the BJP for using money acquired through corruption to “buy votes” and warned that such actions posed a danger to the nation’s future.
In his appeal to the public, Kejriwal said, “Accept whatever they are distributing, but remember one thing, do not sell your votes. Your vote is far more valuable than a saree, shoes, or 1,100 rupees. Don’t let anyone buy it. Vote for anyone you wish, but not for those who are corrupt and trying to undermine our democracy. They are a threat to the future of this nation.”
Kejriwal also reminded voters of the sacrifices made by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to secure the right to vote, urging them to protect this right with integrity.
