Boman Irani’s Directorial Debut ‘The Mehta Boys’ Set For February Release

Mumbai (Maharashtra), January 23: Boman Irani’s directorial debut, The Mehta Boys, is all set to premiere on OTT. The film stars Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry, Puja Sarup, and Boman Irani in lead roles.

The Mehta Boys tells the story of a father and son, estranged from each other, who are unexpectedly forced to spend 48 hours together. The film explores their complicated relationship and delves into the complexities that often define father-son dynamics.

The film has already made a mark on the global film circuit, premiering at the prestigious 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF) in September 2024, where it won the Best Feature Film Award. Boman Irani also won the Best Actor award at the International Film Festival of South Asia in Toronto in October 2024. The film went on to debut in Asia at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa in November 2024, and was featured at the Indian Film Festival Berlin in January 2025.

Reflecting on his experience as a director, Boman Irani shared, “Bringing The Mehta Boys to life has been an immensely rewarding journey. As an actor, I’ve always been fascinated by storytelling, and this project allowed me to explore a completely new creative path as a filmmaker. The relationship between a parent and child has always intrigued me – it’s raw, relatable, and deeply human. I’m thrilled to share this story with audiences, thanks to the incredible team and Prime Video’s support.”

The Mehta Boys will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting February 7.
