UP Govt To Hold Special Cabinet Meeting At Maha Kumbh Today

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: A special cabinet meeting of the Uttar Pradesh government is scheduled today at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, marking a significant occasion as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alongside other cabinet ministers, will later take a holy dip in the sacred Triveni Sangam. The meeting, set for noon, will focus on crucial proposals and schemes aimed at advancing the state’s development.

UP Director General of Police, Prashant Kumar, informed that the meeting will be followed by a ceremonial bath in the Ganga by all cabinet ministers, including CM Yogi Adityanath. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to improve facilities at the event for devotees and officials alike.

“After the cabinet meeting, all the cabinet ministers, along with the Chief Minister, will take a bath here. We have inspected the preparations. We are trying to provide better facilities to everyone here,” said Prashant Kumar.

UP Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Danish Azad Ansari, expressed his confidence in the BJP government’s commitment to Uttar Pradesh’s growth. “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, we will take Uttar Pradesh’s development to new heights,” Ansari said, adding that the government’s focus is on youth empowerment, women’s welfare, and broader state development.

Other ministers, including Dinesh Pratap Singh and Swatantra Dev Singh, highlighted the pride and significance of participating in the Maha Kumbh, stressing the deep cultural and historical roots of the event.

“This is a moment of pride. We will take bath in Ganga with our families and cabinet ministers. We will work together for the benefit of the state,” said Singh.

All 54 ministers of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet have been invited to attend this special meeting, which is expected to approve several key development proposals. UP Minister Jaiveer Singh reflected on the historic nature of the day, with the cabinet meeting coinciding with the spiritual gathering at Maha Kumbh. He also recalled the significance of Ayodhya’s Ram Lalla temple’s consecration on this day in 2022.

After the meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet will participate in a sacred dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

The Maha Kumbh, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, began on January 13 and will continue until February 26. It draws millions of devotees, with key “snan” dates remaining on January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), February 3 (Basant Panchami), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).

Security for the event has been intensified, with over 10,000 personnel deployed by Uttar Pradesh police, including local and paramilitary forces. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has stationed a “water ambulance” at Sangam to ensure the safety of the devotees.
