Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 20: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan shared a heartfelt response to Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, after he gave a special shoutout to the Bollywood icon during his second concert in Mumbai on Sunday.
A viral video on social media shows Chris Martin saying, “Shah Rukh Khan forever,” during the concert, prompting a warm reaction from SRK. Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a message for Chris, writing, “Look at the stars…look how they shine for you…and everything you do! My brother Chris Martin, you make me feel special…like your songs!! Love you and a big hug to your team. You are one in a billion, my friend. India loves you, @coldplay!!!”
SRK also posted a video from the concert with the caption “Chris Martin forever & ever.”
In a beautiful collaboration, Indian singer Jasleen Royal recently joined Chris Martin on stage for a duet of “We Pray” from Coldplay’s latest album Moon Music. Jasleen also wowed the crowd with a soulful performance of “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” as she opened the concert at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.
The evening was filled with surprises, including Chris Martin adding an Indian touch to the show by reading audience placards, saying “Shukriya” and even shouting “Jai Shri Ram,” which received enthusiastic applause. Martin also playfully shouted out to Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah, joking that Bumrah wanted to bowl at him backstage.
The concert, which featured Coldplay classics like “Fix You” and “A Sky Full of Stars,” was a sensory extravaganza that captivated the audience. Prior to the performance, Chris Martin and his partner Dakota Johnson visited the Shri Babulnath Temple in Mumbai, adding a spiritual aspect to their visit.
Coldplay’s India tour continues with performances in Mumbai on January 19 and 21, followed by two shows in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is set to headline the upcoming film King in the coming months.
