AAP’s Satyendar Jain Accuses BJP Of Frustration Over Imminent Defeat

New Delhi [India], January 19: Satyendar Jain, AAP candidate from the Shakur Basti assembly seat, criticized the BJP on Sunday, accusing the party of orchestrating attacks out of fear of defeat in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

“The BJP is frustrated by the prospect of losing and is resorting to attacks. They have targeted Arvind Kejriwal before every election, but the people have always given them a fitting response,” Jain told ANI.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi alleged that criminals were sent to harm AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal during his election campaign on Saturday. She claimed that three individuals, including Rohit Tyagi, a criminal with a history of theft and attempted murder, were involved in the attack. Tyagi is also reportedly a close associate of BJP candidate Parvesh Verma and has been involved in his campaign.

“It is evident that criminals were sent to kill Arvind Kejriwal. Rohit Tyagi, who has a criminal record, was closely involved with Pravesh Verma’s campaign. Another individual, Sumit, also has a criminal history,” Atishi said.

Atishi also shared photographs of the alleged attacker with Verma and further alleged that Kejriwal’s car had been attacked by BJP supporters in the New Delhi Vidhan Sabha area. She suggested that the attack could have been fatal if a stone had hit someone.

Responding to these accusations, BJP candidate Parvesh Verma denied the allegations, stating that the car in which Kejriwal was traveling had hit three people. Verma claimed that the driver applied the brakes, but Kejriwal signaled for the car to continue driving, which led to the injuries. Verma also mentioned that the BJP had filed a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the incident.
