Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 17: John Abraham is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, The Diplomat, which is set to hit theatres on March 7, 2025.
Announcing the release date, John took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, expressing his excitement: “Honored to bring this story of courage and diplomacy to life. See you in theatres on March 7th!” He also shared a new poster from the film, featuring him in a sharp suit with a moustache, embodying his suave character.
Directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah, The Diplomat is inspired by a true story that rocked the nation, offering a gripping narrative of power and patriotism. The film is produced by T-Series (Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar), JA Entertainment (John Abraham), Wakaoo Films (Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl), Fortune Pictures (Sameer Dixit and Jatish Varma), and Seeta Films (Rakesh Dang).
John’s last film, Vedaa, which also starred Sharvari and Tamannaah Bhatia, was released in the midst of a box-office clash with Khel Khel Mein and Stree 2 last year. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Vedaa followed the story of a young woman’s fight for justice, with John playing a former soldier who supports her cause. The film is currently streaming on ZEE5, though it struggled at the box office, facing fierce competition from Stree 2, which emerged as one of 2024’s highest-grossing Hindi films.
With The Diplomat, John is set to return to the big screen in a role that promises to captivate audiences with its blend of suspense, courage, and diplomacy.
