Marking 60 Years of India-Singapore Relations
President Tharman is on a state visit to India from January 14-18, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations. A commemorative event was held in New Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu and President Tharman unveiled a special logo to mark the milestone.
The logo symbolizes the enduring partnership between the two nations, integrating elements of their national symbols. It features colors from the Indian and Singaporean flags, along with their national flowers—the lotus for India and the orchid for Singapore. The number ’60’ highlights the six decades of strong bilateral ties.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met President Tharman to discuss cooperation in futuristic sectors, including semiconductors, digitalization, skilling, and connectivity. They further explored opportunities for collaboration in infrastructure, industry, and culture.
Singapore remains a cornerstone of India’s Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific strategy, with bilateral cooperation expanding across key sectors such as sustainability and advanced technology.
Commemorative events celebrating 60 years of India-Singapore relations will continue throughout 2025 to honor this enduring partnership.
