New Delhi [India]: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) contingent conducted its parade rehearsal for the 76th Republic Day at Kartavya Path on Thursday morning.
Speaking to media, RPF Inspector General Sumati Shandilya emphasized the force’s commitment to safeguarding railway property and passengers. “Railway Protection Force is an armed force of India, which is deployed at all stations across India to protect railway property and railway passengers,” Shandilya said.
Highlighting the RPF’s dedication, she added, “Our commitment, our goal is to do the service and with that commitment, we are deployed everywhere with great hard work and dedication. We are proud to say that our ranks, among the central forces, have the highest number of women, more than 9% are women.”
Special Guest Invitations for Republic Day
In alignment with the government’s initiative to enhance Jan Bhagidari (public participation) in events of national significance, approximately 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the Republic Day Parade on January 26 at Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
According to an official release, these guests include individuals from diverse backgrounds who have excelled in various fields or benefited from government initiatives. Among them are:
- Sarpanches: Representing villages that have met targets in at least six flagship schemes under a national-level competition announced by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
- Self-Help Groups (SHGs): Members working in food, nutrition, health, water sanitation, and hygiene, with a focus on those who have not previously visited Delhi.
- PM-JANMAN Mission Participants: Tribal artisans, Van Dhan Vikas Yojna members, and volunteers from schemes like MyBharat.
- Environmental and Disaster Relief Workers: Including Pani Samiti members, Water Warriors, and conservation volunteers.
- Farmers and Renewable Energy Advocates: Individuals supporting the PM Surya Ghar scheme and PM KUSUM initiative.
Honoring Excellence in Sports and Innovation
Members of India’s Para-Olympic contingent, Chess Olympiad medalists, Bridge World Games Silver medalists, and Snooker World Championship Gold medalists have been invited to acknowledge their contributions to the nation’s pride. Additionally, patent holders, start-ups, and school children who won the All India School Band Competition and Veer Gatha competition will be part of the celebrations.
Additional Activities for Guests
Besides attending the Republic Day Parade, the special guests will visit key landmarks such as the National War Memorial and PM Sangrahalay and interact with government ministers, fostering a deeper connection with national heritage and leadership.
The 76th Republic Day celebration promises to honor the nation’s diversity, resilience, and achievements while highlighting the significance of public involvement in shaping India’s future.
