Washington [USA], January 15: Actor David Schwimmer, best known for his role in Friends, recently shared a humorous memory from his early jobs before becoming a Hollywood star. During an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Schwimmer recalled a particularly memorable experience serving divorce papers to legendary singer Rod Stewart.
When Colbert asked about some of the unique jobs Schwimmer had before fame, the actor explained that he worked as a process server for his mother, who was a divorce lawyer. Schwimmer humorously described how, one summer after his freshman year in college, he would “pop out of the bushes” to serve divorce papers.
In an amusing twist, Schwimmer revealed that he once served divorce papers to Rod Stewart, though he wasn’t sure the singer ever knew about it. “Once, oh man, thank goodness I’ve never run into him since, but I served Rod Stewart,” Schwimmer shared. “I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows.”
Colbert responded jokingly, “He knows now. Change your locks, man. He’s vengeful,” adding, “You could theoretically run into Rod Stewart sometime and now he knows to punch you.”
Schwimmer, however, did not disclose the name of the woman Stewart was divorcing at the time. Stewart was married to model Rachel Hunter in 1990, but the couple divorced in 2006 after nine years of marriage. Stewart has been married to Penny Lancaster since 2007.
