New Delhi [India], January 15: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a fierce attack on the ruling BJP and its ideological foundation during the inauguration of the Congress party’s new headquarters, ‘Indira Bhawan,’ on Wednesday.
Gandhi, speaking at the event, said, “The people in power today do not salute the tricolour, do not believe in the national flag, and do not believe in the Constitution. They have a completely different vision for India than we do.”
He accused the ruling party of attempting to suppress the voices of minorities, Dalits, backward castes, and tribals. “They want India to be ruled by one man and aim to crush the voices of Dalits, minorities, backward castes, and tribals. This is their agenda,” he claimed.
Emphasizing Congress’ ideological commitment to opposing this agenda, Gandhi said, “I would like to say clearly that there is no other party in this country that can stop them. The only party that can stop them is the Congress party. Our ideology didn’t emerge yesterday. We are an ideological party.”
Gandhi further compared the Congress’ ideology to that of the RSS, stating, “Our ideology, like the RSS’s, is thousands of years old and has been fighting their ideology for thousands of years.”
He also described the ongoing political battle as being much larger than just a contest between political parties. “Do not think we are fighting a fair fight. There is no fairness in this. The BJP and the RSS have captured every single institution in our country. We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself,” he remarked.
