New Delhi [India]: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal has made a bold claim ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, asserting that the polls will reveal a long-standing alliance or “jugalbandi” between the Congress and BJP.
Kejriwal’s remarks came after BJP leader Amit Malviya responded to his comments about Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

In a post on X, Kejriwal stated, “I said just one line about Rahul Gandhi and the reply is coming from the BJP. Look how much trouble the BJP is facing. Perhaps this Delhi election will expose the ‘Jugalbandi’ going on behind the scenes between Congress and BJP for years.”
On Monday, Kejriwal criticized Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, claiming that Gandhi’s primary focus is on saving his party, while Kejriwal’s fight is to “save the country.”
“Today Rahul Gandhi came to Delhi. He abused me a lot. But I will not comment on his statements. His fight is to save Congress, my fight is to save the country,” Kejriwal stated in his post.
In response, BJP leader Amit Malviya posted on X, saying, “Worry about the country later, save your New Delhi seat for now.”
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, speaking at a public address in Seelampur, Delhi, targeted both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Gandhi questioned their efforts in tackling inflation and helping the poor.
“I wish to ask, is inflation increasing or decreasing? What did Kejriwal and PM Modi say on inflation? They said they would reduce it. Has it been reduced? The poor are becoming poorer, and the rich are becoming richer,” Gandhi said.
He further added, “There are 100 to 150 billionaires who are controlling the country. They get all the privileges. Have you ever seen PM Modi speaking about Adani and Ambani? Has Kejriwal ever said anything about Adani?”
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in a single phase on February 5, with the counting of votes set for February 8.
The last date for filing nominations is January 17, followed by the scrutiny of nominations on January 18. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until January 20.
