Ram Nath Kovind To Deliver Lecture At Maha Kumbh On ‘One Nation, One Election’

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Former President Ram Nath Kovind is set to serve as the chief guest at a lecture titled “One Nation, One Election – in the Context of Economic and Political Reform for a Developed India” on January 18. This event is part of a series of thought-provoking talks being held during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

Organized by the Divya Prem Seva Mission, Haridwar, the lecture series features discussions on contemporary issues such as terrorism, women empowerment, social media, and India’s cultural and political challenges.

The first lecture, held on January 12, focused on “Swami Vivekananda’s Global Vision of Sanatan Dharma.” Subsequent sessions are scheduled for January 17, 20, 25, and 31, as well as February 6, with distinguished experts sharing their insights on critical topics.

The Maha Kumbh 2025, a significant religious gathering held every 12 years, will run from January 13 to February 26, 2025. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had previously extended invitations for the event to former President Kovind and Mizoram Governor General VK Singh (Retd).

Spectacular Attractions Planned for Maha Kumbh 2025

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is preparing to captivate attendees with innovative attractions, including a breathtaking drone show at the Sangam Nose. Featuring a fleet of 2,000 illuminated drones, the show will narrate mythological tales such as the Samudra Manthan (Ocean Churning) and the emergence of the Amrit Kalash (Nectar Pot). The drone show will take place during the event’s grand opening and conclusion.

District Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh highlighted the immersive experience:
“The legendary tales of ‘Prayag Mahatmyam’ and the Mahakumbh will come to life through the illuminated drones, creating a magical narrative in the evening skies,” she said.

Other attractions include:

  • Floating restaurants
  • Water activities
  • Hot air balloon rides
  • Laser light shows
  • A musical fountain laser show on the Yamuna River at Kali Ghat

These initiatives aim to provide an unforgettable experience for the millions of visitors expected to attend the Mahakumbh.

The Maha Kumbh, deeply rooted in Hindu tradition, continues to serve as a confluence of spirituality, culture, and innovation, drawing pilgrims and tourists from across the globe.
