Washington [US], January 11 : Actor Timothée Chalamet is set to make history on January 25 by becoming both the host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live (SNL). This rare feat places Chalamet among a select group of celebrities who have taken on both roles in the iconic show’s 50-year history.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chalamet joins an elite list of past SNL hosts who also performed as musical guests, including legends such as Paul Simon, Ray Charles, Elton John, and Britney Spears. However, Chalamet stands out for being the first non-musician to take on both roles since NFL star Deion Sanders did so in 1995.
On the professional front, Chalamet is currently in the spotlight for his portrayal in A Complete Unknown, a Bob Dylan biopic, where he sings several of Dylan’s iconic songs. Additionally, Chalamet is making waves with a potential Oscar nomination. With nominations announced on January 17, he is a strong contender for Best Actor, and if he wins, he would become the youngest actor ever to win the award, surpassing Adrien Brody, who was 29 when he won in 2003.
