New Delhi (India), January 11: Renowned filmmaker Sukumar, celebrated for his significant contributions to the Telugu film industry, turns 55 today. The director, best known for his work on the Pushpa franchise, has received an outpouring of birthday wishes from his colleagues and fans around the world on social media.
Among the well-wishers is Pushpa 2 star Rashmika Mandanna, who shared a warm birthday message for Sukumar on her Instagram Stories. Posting a candid selfie with the director from the sets of Pushpa 2, Rashmika wrote, “Happiest birthday @aryasukku sirrrr! I miss youuuuu. Now I have many nice photos of you… but I loveeee this one cz this is sooooo you!”
Sukumar’s career has been marked by a distinctive blend of action, drama, and social commentary, which has resonated deeply with audiences. His journey in the film industry began in 1998 as a screenwriter, and he made his directorial debut with Arya in 2004. The film, which starred Allu Arjun, marked the beginning of a successful partnership between the two, continuing with the global phenomenon that is the Pushpa franchise.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule, the sequel to the record-breaking Pushpa: The Rise, has become the highest-grossing Indian film ever since its release on December 5, surpassing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
