New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to the nation on the first anniversary of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, calling it a “great heritage of our culture and spirituality.”
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said,
“Best wishes to all the countrymen on the first anniversary of the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. This temple, built after centuries of sacrifice, penance, and struggle, is a great heritage of our culture and spirituality. I am confident that this divine and magnificent Ram temple will become a great inspiration in the accomplishment of the resolution of a developed India.”
Anniversary Celebrations
The three-day anniversary celebrations began today, aligned with the Hindu calendar. While last year’s ceremony was held on Kurma Dwadashi during Shukla Paksha in the Paush month, this year the corresponding date falls on January 11.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the festivities by performing the Abhishek of Ram Lalla.
Rituals and Events
- The day commenced with Agnihotra, accompanied by chants from the Shukla Yajurveda.
- A mass chanting of 6 lakh Shri Ram Mantras, along with the recitation of the Ram Raksha Stotra and Hanuman Chalisa, was conducted.
- Rag Seva was organized on the ground floor of the temple, followed by a Congratulations Song at 6 PM.
- On the first floor, devotees witnessed a Musical Manas Recitation, and a Ram Katha was held at Angad Tila inside the temple premises.
Architectural Marvel
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, is a monumental testament to Hindu architecture.
- Dimensions: 380 feet (length), 250 feet (width), and 161 feet (height).
- Pillars: 392 intricately sculpted pillars depict various Hindu deities.
- Doors: 44 elaborately designed doors adorn the temple.
The idol of Ram Lalla, representing Lord Ram in his childhood form, resides in the sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, surrounded by meticulously crafted depictions of Gods, Goddesses, and mythological scenes.
Growing Devotion
The temple has seen an overwhelming influx of devotees since the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024, where PM Modi personally performed the main rituals. On January 1, 2025, over 2 lakh devotees visited the temple to offer prayers. The Hanumangarhi Ram Temple nearby has also witnessed a significant increase in visitors.
The celebrations of the Pran Pratishtha anniversary highlight the profound cultural and spiritual significance of the Ram Temple, drawing devotees from across the country to the sacred city of Ayodhya.
