“They Tried A Lot To Divide Me And Kejriwal But Didn’t Succeed”: AAP’s Manish Sisodia Hits Out At BJP

New Delhi [India]: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Sunday intensified his criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of attempting to create a rift between him and Arvind Kejriwal, though they failed.

“I used to tell them that you are trying to separate Lakshman from Rama. I warned the BJP not to separate Lakshman from Rama. No Ravana can ever break that bond. They tried hard to break me and the party. I told them it’s a 26-year-long friendship, and I cannot betray my friend, my political mentor, and my brother, Arvind Kejriwal,” Sisodia said.
These comments were made during his address at the ‘Janta ki Adalat’ event held at Jantar Mantar.

Sisodia further added, “The BJP made many attempts to divide us. They would say, ‘You don’t know, but Arvind Kejriwal has implicated you,’ to which I replied that he implicated me 26 years ago, and since then, I have worked with him. They even falsely claimed in court that Kejriwal had blamed me, and on the same day, they approached me, saying that Kejriwal had named me, urging me to implicate him in return. They promised I would be spared if I did. I always smiled at their claims. When we have done nothing wrong, why would we accuse each other?”

On the same occasion, Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal reiterated that he resigned not out of desire for the Chief Minister’s position but because he entered politics for the sake of the country.

Kejriwal stated that he is not a typical politician and that the allegations against him had deeply affected him.

Speaking at the ‘Janta ki Adalat’, Kejriwal said, “I resigned because I did not come into politics for corruption. I have no desire for the CM’s chair. I didn’t come here to make money. I worked in the Income Tax department, and I could have earned crores if that were my aim. I came into politics for the country, for Bharat Mata, to change the political system.”

“Politicians usually don’t care about allegations; they have thick skins. But I am not a politician like that. It hurts when the BJP calls me a thief or corrupt. I am heartbroken, which is why I resigned,” Kejriwal added.

He also emphasised that he had only gained respect in his political career and does not own a house in Delhi. “I will leave the CM’s residence in a few days. I don’t even have a home. Over the past ten years, I’ve only earned love, and as a result, many people have offered me a place to stay. After Shraadh ends, at the start of Navratri, I will vacate the residence and live with one of you,” he said.
