Chris Martin Delights Fans With ‘Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye’ At Coldplay’s Abu Dhabi Concert”

New Delhi [India], January 11: Coldplay’s recent concert in Abu Dhabi featured a heartwarming and unexpected moment when frontman Chris Martin delighted fans by reading a sign that referenced a popular phrase from Diljit Dosanjh.

While the band was performing on stage, Martin spotted a fan holding a sign that read, “Punjabi aa gaye oye,” a phrase made famous by Diljit, especially after his iconic Coachella performance in 2023. With a smile, Martin read the words aloud, sparking cheers and applause from the audience. He then added, “We love you too,” acknowledging the fan’s message and adding to the excitement of the night.

The moment was shared on Instagram by Diljit’s team, accompanied by the caption, “Chris Martin says PUNJABI AA GAYE OYE…!!! Chris Martin reading Coldplay fan posters and flags is so wholesome.”

The phrase, which translates to “Punjabis have arrived,” has gained significant popularity since Diljit Dosanjh introduced it to global audiences. Diljit recently wrapped up his highly anticipated Dil-Luminati tour across India in 2024, performing in cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, Coldplay is gearing up for their return to India as part of their Music of the Spheres tour. Following their Abu Dhabi performance, the band is set to perform in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, marking their first shows in India since 2016, when they last performed at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai.
