Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi, representing the Ludhiana West constituency, was declared dead after sustaining bullet injuries.
The tragic incident occurred around midnight, and the MLA was rushed to the DMC Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival, as confirmed by officials.
“The incident happened around midnight, and he was declared dead when he was brought to the DMC hospital…” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja.
DCP Teja further stated, “Investigation is underway.”
Gogi, who had joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2022, had defeated two-time former Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the Ludhiana assembly elections.
Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
