New Delhi [India], January 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has outlined his vision for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), emphasizing a “problem-free” nation and the full delivery of government schemes. In a podcast with Zerodha Co-founder Nikhil Kamath, PM Modi reflected on his evolving perspective in his third term, expressing a strong commitment to resolving core issues like sanitation, water, and electricity by 2047.
“My morale is high and my dreams have grown,” said PM Modi, adding that in the first term, people were getting to know him, while in the second, he focused on the past. Now, in the third term, his vision is to ensure that by 2047, everyone has access to basic services, including toilets, electricity, and tap water. “People shouldn’t have to beg for their rights from the government. These should be their entitlements,” he stated.
He emphasized that achieving 100% delivery of government schemes was central to social justice and secularism, and he identified AI—an abbreviation for “Aspirational India”—as a key driver in realizing this goal.
PM Modi also highlighted the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone for success, urging people to embrace risk-taking. “Even an industrialist who doesn’t take risks will miss out. My capacity to take risks comes from not worrying about personal gain,” he explained.
The Prime Minister reflected on India’s changing global stature, recalling a time when the United States had refused him a visa. “I said back in 2005 that one day the world would stand in line for an Indian visa, and now, it’s coming true,” he said.
He also shared a recent interaction during a visit to Kuwait, where a laborer asked when an international airport would be built in his district in India. “This kind of aspiration will drive India towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047,” PM Modi concluded.
