A family of five was found dead at their residence in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, with police confirming that the bodies of a couple and their three children were recovered from their home. The tragic discovery was made on Thursday night when authorities responded to a call about the incident.
Vipin Tada, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Meerut, confirmed that the police reached the location after receiving the report, and found the house locked from the outside. The deceased, which included both parents and their children, appeared to have suffered head injuries, suggesting blunt force trauma.
“The house was locked from outside. Inside, we found the bodies of a couple and their three children. It seems they were hit on the head with a blunt object,” SSP Tada told media.
While the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report, initial investigations suggest that the crime could have been driven by rivalry, and it is likely that the victims knew the assailant.
“The actual cause of death will be known once the post-mortem report comes. From the initial investigation, it seems to be a crime committed due to rivalry and possibly by someone known to the victims. Investigation is ongoing,” the police officer added.
Further details regarding the case are awaited.
