Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: A tragic incident occurred on Friday night when a car, in which Marathi actor Urmilla Kanetkar was travelling, hit two labourers working on a metro project near Poisar Metro station in Mumbai. One of the labourers was killed, while the other was injured and hospitalized. Both Urmilla and her driver sustained injuries in the accident.
According to Mumbai Police, the incident took place when the car’s driver lost control at high speed. The actor, who was returning home from work, fortunately escaped with minor injuries, thanks to the timely deployment of the car’s airbags. However, her driver was severely injured in the crash.
Speaking to the media, Urmilla’s father stated that the actress is recovering from her injuries. He also clarified that neither Urmilla nor her driver were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as authorities look into the cause of the crash.
Urmilla Kanetkar is known for her roles in Marathi films like Duniyadari and the Hindi film Thank God.
