Washington DC [US]: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar concluded a two-day conference with the Indian Embassy team and Consuls General in Washington, expressing optimism about the discussions and their role in enhancing the India-US partnership.
In a post on X, Jaishankar shared:

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Jaishankar is visiting the United States from December 24 to December 29.
Key Meetings and Discussions
On Thursday, Jaishankar met with U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Washington, DC. The two leaders engaged in extensive discussions about the progress of the India-US strategic partnership and exchanged perspectives on regional and global developments.
Later, Jaishankar held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Both leaders reviewed advancements in India-US ties over the past four years, highlighting strengthened cooperation across various sectors.
Jaishankar expressed confidence that the growing relationship between India and the United States would benefit mutual interests and contribute to global progress.
Embassy and Consulate Engagement
During his visit, Jaishankar met India’s Ambassador to the U.S., Vinay Kwatra, along with Consul Generals from New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta. The discussions focused on opportunities to deepen the India-US partnership, particularly in technology, trade, and investment.
Context of the Visit
Jaishankar’s trip follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the U.S. in September, during which he participated in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware. This marks another step in the frequent high-level interactions between the two nations.
Earlier this week, senior diplomats, including U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma, emphasized the robust bilateral relationship between India and the United States.
India-US relations have evolved into a “global strategic partnership” rooted in shared democratic values and aligned interests on bilateral, regional, and global issues. Regular high-level visits and an expanding dialogue framework continue to drive momentum in the partnership.
