UP CM Yogi Adityanath Commemorates Veer Bal Diwas, Honors Sahibzadas’ Sacrifices

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked Veer Bal Diwas at his residence on Thursday, paying tribute to the sacrifices of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the young Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He emphasized their martyrdom as a cornerstone of India’s history and a source of inspiration for future generations.

Honoring the Sahibzadas’ Sacrifice

During the event, Adityanath recounted the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas, who were bricked alive by Wazir Khan for refusing to renounce their faith. He lauded their courage and determination, stating that their sacrifice symbolizes the unwavering spirit to protect religion and the nation.

The Chief Minister further highlighted that the Uttar Pradesh government is conducting commemorative events in every district to honor their contributions.

Recognizing Sikh Gurus’ Legacy

Adityanath paid homage to the sacrifices of Sikh Gurus, including Guru Arjun Dev Ji and Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He credited Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom with reinforcing India’s cultural and spiritual bonds with Kashmir. Reflecting on the Sahibzadas’ young age—7 and 9 years old—Adityanath called their bravery an extraordinary example for all.

Concerns for Sikh Communities Abroad

The CM expressed concern over the dwindling Sikh population in Kabul and the challenges faced by Sikh communities in Bangladesh and Pakistan. “Only 2-4 families are left in Kabul,” he said, urging collective resolve to protect cultural and spiritual heritage.

Adityanath also spoke about the role of Sikh youth in defending India, emphasizing the need to combat threats such as drug addiction. “We must identify our enemies and work together to secure our youth’s future,” he added.

Tribute to Maharaja Ranjit Singh

The Chief Minister honored Maharaja Ranjit Singh for his contributions, including offering gold to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He highlighted the inclusivity of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s teachings, particularly the egalitarian tradition of the langar, where all sit together as equals.

Acknowledging PM Modi’s Initiative

Adityanath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for establishing Veer Bal Diwas, describing it as a significant step in honoring the legacy of the Sahibzadas and Sikh Gurus. He reiterated the commitment of the “double-engine government” to stand with the people and preserve the nation’s heritage.
