Telangana CM To Meet Film Industry Amid Sandhya Theatre Tragedy Aftermath

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: Dil Raju, film producer and Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, announced that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has scheduled a meeting with the film industry for tomorrow (Thursday). He pledged to serve as a mediator between the Telangana Film Development Corporation and the state government.

Addressing the media about the Sandhya Theatre tragedy, Dil Raju said, “The CM (Revanth Reddy) has scheduled tomorrow’s appointment, and the entire film industry will meet him… I will act as a bridge between the Telangana Film Development Corporation and the government… Everyone available in Hyderabad will attend.”

Providing an update on the tragedy, Dil Raju shared that Sri Tej, the child injured in the incident, is recovering well. He mentioned that Sri Tej, the son of Revathi, who tragically lost her life, had been taken off the ventilator two days ago and was responding positively to treatment.

Dil Raju visited KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, to meet Sri Tej’s family. He assured that the film industry and the state government are committed to supporting the family. “He (Sri Tej) is responding and recovering… He was taken off the ventilator two days ago,” he noted.

The incident occurred during the December 4 premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A massive crowd gathered to see actor Allu Arjun, who waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. The chaos resulted in the tragic death of Revathi and injuries to her son, Sri Tej.

Actor Allu Arjun was questioned by Hyderabad police regarding the incident. He was later arrested and released on bail after furnishing a ₹50,000 bond.

Bhaskar, the father of the injured child, expressed gratitude for the support from the Telangana government and Allu Arjun. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said, “The child responded after 20 days. He is responding today. Allu Arjun and the Telangana government are supporting us.”

The scheduled meeting with CM Revanth Reddy aims to address the fallout from the tragedy and ensure coordinated efforts between the government and the film industry to provide the necessary support to the affected family and prevent such incidents in the future.
