New Delhi [India], December 25 : On the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 100th birth anniversary, his foster daughter, Namita Kaul Bhattacharya, offered floral tributes at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in the national capital.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Vajpayee as a visionary leader whose legacy continues to inspire the nation. In an article, PM Modi described Vajpayee as the “architect of India’s transition into the 21st century,” highlighting his pivotal role in shaping India’s future and boosting the nation’s economic progress.
In his tribute, PM Modi acknowledged Vajpayee’s leadership during challenging times, particularly in guiding the nation through political instability and laying the groundwork for India’s economic surge. The Prime Minister highlighted several key projects spearheaded by Vajpayee, including the Golden Quadrilateral, the nuclear tests, and efforts to strengthen India’s democratic framework.
PM Modi wrote, “Atal Ji turned the tide by providing stable and effective governance. He came from humble roots and understood the struggles of the common citizen. His leadership transformed India.”
The Prime Minister also praised Vajpayee’s contributions to technology and infrastructure, including the IT revolution, telecom advancements, and initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the Delhi Metro. “His era saw India make a giant leap in technology, and he worked tirelessly to ensure that the benefits of growth reached every corner of the country,” PM Modi added.
On this special occasion, PM Modi urged the nation to embrace Vajpayee’s ideals of good governance, unity, and progress, and to strive towards realizing his vision for a stronger India.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also paid tribute to Vajpayee, recognizing his legacy as a skilled administrator and a key figure in the creation of Uttarakhand, while acknowledging his broader contributions to India’s global stature and progress.
