In a tragic incident, a six-year-old boy, Harsh Mavji Arethia, lost his life after being struck by an airbag during a two-car collision in the Vashi area of Maharashtra.
Incident Details
The accident occurred on the night of December 21 when a car hit a road divider, causing its rear end to rise and collide with the bonnet of another vehicle in which Harsh was seated in the front seat. The collision triggered the airbag deployment, fatally striking the child.
Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Ghumal from Vashi Police Station stated, “On December 21, at around 11.30 pm, a car hit a divider. Another car coming from behind hit the first car, and its airbags opened. The child sitting in the car was hit by the airbag. The people passing by took him to the hospital. He died during the treatment. A case has been registered.”
Medical Findings
Doctors confirmed that Harsh suffered no visible external injuries. The cause of death was attributed to polytrauma shock caused by the impact of the airbag.
