Chandrababu Naidu Advocates Employment For Educated Women Through Co-Working Spaces

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the need for educated women to step beyond the confines of their homes and pursue employment opportunities. Chairing a review meeting at the State Secretariat on Tuesday, Naidu highlighted the importance of co-working spaces and work-from-home systems in creating job opportunities for women across rural and semi-urban areas.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister directed authorities to provide proper training to educated women, enabling them to access suitable employment opportunities. He said, “Educated women should not confine themselves to their houses as work-from-home and co-working centres can provide massive employment opportunities to them.”

Concerns and Vision

Naidu expressed concern that many educated women remain unemployed due to family responsibilities or lack of access to opportunities. He remarked, “Women are very efficient and talented but are confining themselves to their homes due to certain family issues and responsibilities. If proper opportunities are provided to such women, economic activity will grow.”

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of bringing work-from-home systems closer to women to ensure they can effectively contribute to the workforce while managing family responsibilities.

Progress and Targets

Officials informed Naidu that the state has identified 22 lakh square feet of space in both government and private buildings to establish co-working centres. These centres are expected to become operational by December 2025.

Naidu also directed officials to identify necessities for those opting for work-from-home and to establish at least five Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs in strategic locations. He stressed linking educational institutions and industries with these innovation hubs to create a robust ecosystem for talent development and innovation.
