Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Reviews Maha Kumbh 2025 Preparations In Prayagraj

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025 during his visit to Prayagraj. The event, held once every 12 years, is scheduled from January 13 to February 26, 2025, and is expected to draw millions of devotees from across the globe.


Key Highlights of CM Yogi’s Visit

  1. Clean Ganga Initiative:
    • The Uttar Pradesh Jal Board and Irrigation Department are working to prevent polluted water from entering the Ganga, ensuring a pristine river for pilgrims.
    • CM Yogi emphasized the significance of a clean Ganga for spiritual activities and promised visible improvements by December 30, 2024.
  2. New Attractions:
    • The Ganga riverfront will be unveiled for the first time, providing a scenic and spiritual experience for visitors.
    • A tableau of Prayagraj, showcasing its historical and cultural richness, will be displayed for pilgrims.
  3. Infrastructure and Accommodation:
    • A 100-bed temporary hospital has been set up by the Health Department to cater to the medical needs of visitors.
    • The UP State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) is establishing a 300-bed deluxe dormitory to offer premium lodging options.
  4. Cultural Heritage Showcases:
    • The Uttar Pradesh Culture Department will organize folk dance performances from various Indian states on 20 small stages across Prayagraj. This cultural initiative will run for 45 days, enriching the spiritual and cultural experience for attendees.

Safety and Security Measures

  • Deployment of Specialized Forces:
    • 220 deep-sea divers from the NDRF and SDRF, supported by 700 boats, will be on standby in the Sangam waters to ensure safety during bathing rituals.
    • Additional personnel from the NDRF, SDRF, water police, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and healthcare units will also be deployed.
  • Advanced Technology for Crowd Management:
    • The Uttar Pradesh Police will integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies into their CCTV systems to enhance surveillance and ensure the safety of devotees.

Key Bathing Dates

The Shahi Snan (Royal Baths), regarded as the most auspicious bathing days during the Maha Kumbh, are scheduled for:

  • January 14 (Makar Sankranti)
  • January 29 (Mauni Amavasya)
  • February 3 (Basant Panchami)

The Maha Kumbh Mela is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, symbolizing spiritual purification and cultural unity. With enhanced facilities, security measures, and cultural offerings, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to make the 2025 Maha Kumbh a transformative experience for millions of devotees.
