Washington [US], December 22: Actor Chad Michael Murray shared his excitement about reuniting with Lindsay Lohan for the much-awaited sequel to Freaky Friday. Reflecting on the experience, Murray described it as “awesome” and “a nostalgic kick,” adding that it felt like a high school reunion despite the years that had passed.
“It felt like no time had passed, but we had entire lives in between,” Murray said during his appearance at Christmas Con 2024 in Edison, New Jersey. He noted that it had been “23 years since we were on set doing the first one” and joked about the challenges of keeping track of the body-swapping plot, admitting, “There were moments where I was sitting there going, ‘Okay, who’s who?'”
The sequel, Freakier Friday, will bring Murray back as Jake, while Lohan reprises her role as Anna Coleman. Jamie Lee Curtis will also return as Anna’s mother, Tess Coleman. The movie will feature a mix of returning stars, including Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, and Haley Hudson, as well as new cast members Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons.
Freakier Friday is scheduled for release on August 8, 2025.
