New Delhi [India], December 22: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has hailed the Delhi government’s new scheme, ‘Mahila Samman Yojana,’ as a “masterstroke” ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Singh expressed confidence that the scheme, which promises Rs 2,100 per month to women, will help the party secure more seats than it did in the last Delhi assembly elections.
- Sanjay Singh’s Confidence: AAP MP Sanjay Singh expressed confidence that the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ will be a game-changer for the party in the next Delhi assembly elections. He believes that this initiative will attract voters from all sections of society.
- Election Impact: Singh stated that the guarantee of Rs 2,100 per month for women would be a “masterstroke” for AAP, helping the party to win more seats than in the 2020 elections. AAP currently holds 58 out of the 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly.
- Scheme Details: The ‘Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ is designed to provide financial assistance to women in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal, AAP national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister, announced that registrations for the scheme will begin on December 23.
- Registration Process: Kejriwal assured that women wouldn’t have to wait in queues for registration. AAP teams will visit households to assist women with registration and provide them with cards.
- Sanjeevani Yojana: Along with the Mahila Samman Yojana, Kejriwal also announced the launch of the ‘Sanjeevani Yojana’, aimed at covering medical treatment costs for senior citizens above 60 years. Registration for this scheme will also start on December 23.
- Beneficiaries: The two schemes are expected to benefit 35 to 40 lakh women and around 15 lakh senior citizens in Delhi.
- Eligibility and Voter ID: To avail of both schemes, citizens must have a valid Delhi voter ID. AAP encourages residents to check whether their vote is valid on the official website.
- Upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections: AAP has also released its candidate list for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal will contest from New Delhi, Atishi from Kalkaji, Saurabh Bharadwaj from Greater Kailash, and Gopal Rai from Babarpur.
