Union MoS Raksha Khadse Says Rahul Gandhi Should Have Shown Courtesy After Parliament Ruckus

Jalgaon (Maharashtra) [India], December 22 : Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, criticized Congress leaders, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, for their actions during the December 19 ruckus at the Parliament complex.

Khadse stated that as the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi should have shown more civility, especially after an MP was injured during the protest. She emphasized that, despite political differences, members of Parliament must treat each other with respect.

“The behavior of Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders at the Parliament entrance was inappropriate. While party ideologies may differ, there should be mutual respect among MPs. Rahul Gandhi should have shown some courtesy after an MP was injured due to his actions,” Khadse said in an interview with ANI.

On December 19, Rahul Gandhi and other MPs from the INDIA alliance led a protest in the Parliament complex, demanding an apology and resignation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. During the protest, a scuffle broke out between BJP and opposition MPs, leading to injuries for two BJP MPs—Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput—who sustained head injuries.

Both the ruling NDA and the Opposition alliance claimed that their members were physically pushed during the incident. Following the altercation, an FIR was filed by the Delhi Police against Rahul Gandhi in connection with the scuffle.

The BJP lodged a formal complaint against Rahul Gandhi under various sections, including 109 (attempt to murder), 115 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 117 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 125 (endangering life or personal safety), 131 (use of criminal force), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (common intention). However, the Delhi Police later removed section 109 (attempt to murder) and retained the other charges.

The Delhi Police also confirmed receiving a complaint from Congress, which is currently under investigation.
