Shah criticized the CPI-led government (referred to as “Laal Sarkar”) for failing to care for the Bru-Reang refugees, contrasting it with the BJP government (referred to as “Kamal Phool Sarkar”) which he claimed ensured the community’s rights were recognized and addressed.

Shah addressed the 72nd Plenary of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in Agartala, urging the region’s leaders and citizens to work towards making the northeast drug- and addiction-free. Shah detailed the security improvements in the region, stating that over the past decade, the government’s strategies had led to a 31% reduction in violent incidents and an 86% decrease in civilian deaths.
