Washington [USA], December 21: Tom Holland, known for his role in Spider-Man: Far From Home, is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film. While the actor is thrilled to be working with the Oscar-winning director, he admits that he knows little about the project as details are being kept under wraps.
Appearing on the Dish podcast, Holland shared that filming has yet to begin and he has no concrete information about the film’s storyline. “It hasn’t started shooting, to be perfectly honest with you. I don’t know anything about it,” Holland revealed during Tuesday’s episode.
He further explained that the secrecy surrounding the film is part of the process. “I’m super excited. Everything is very, very hush-hush. I met with [Nolan]. It was awesome. He kind of loosely pitched what it was, and I’m sure when he’s ready he’ll announce what it is.”
Christopher Nolan, who wrote the screenplay and will direct the film, is producing it alongside his wife, Emma Thomas, through their production company, Syncopy. Universal Pictures is distributing the movie, which is slated for a July 17, 2026 release. This marks a reunion between Nolan and Universal, following their successful collaboration on the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer.
Matt Damon, who previously worked with Nolan on Oppenheimer and Interstellar (2014), will have a prominent role in the film. This will be Holland’s first collaboration with the acclaimed director. Also joining the star-studded cast are Anne Hathaway and Zendaya, who has worked with Holland in the Spider-Man franchise. The two stars have been dating since 2021, and Holland shared how their shared experience on set is a source of comfort.
“It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that, like, familiar glance at each other of like, can’t wait to talk about that later,” Holland said of his bond with Zendaya.
