“Ram Mandir Workers Honoured, Taj Mahal Artisans Maimed”: Yogi Adityanath Lauds PM Modi’s Respect for Labour

Speaking at the World Hindu Economic Forum, CM Yogi Highlights Labour Welfare, India’s Economic Legacy, and the Vision of a ‘New India’

Mumbai, December 15: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing the World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF) in Mumbai, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing deep respect for the labour force, particularly citing the honour bestowed on the workers behind the Ram Mandir construction.

CM Yogi contrasted this with the treatment of artisans who built the Taj Mahal, claiming that historical rulers maimed workers and destroyed traditions. “On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi respected the workers who built the Ram Mandir, showering flowers on them. Compare this with the time when the hands of the artisans who built the Taj Mahal were chopped off,” he said.

The Chief Minister extended his critique to historical rulers who destroyed the legacy of India’s fine cloth industry by maiming its workers. “Today, India respects and protects its labour force, ensuring they are integral to our progress. This is a stark contrast to the past, where entire traditions were wiped out,” he added.

Celebrating India’s Economic Strength

CM Yogi highlighted India’s dominance in the global economy between the first and fifteenth centuries, when the country held over 40% of the global economic share. “Even European scholars acknowledge India’s unparalleled economic influence during this era,” he remarked.

Reclaiming India’s Heritage

The Chief Minister lauded PM Modi for restoring pride in India’s heritage, stating that before 2014, the country faced an identity crisis. “PM Modi has freed India from rigidities of the past and given us a vision of a proud and inclusive ‘New India.’ Our heritage was strong even when those who encourage terrorism today did not exist,” Yogi said.

World Hindu Economic Forum Highlights

The World Hindu Economic Forum, held at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai from December 13 to 15, focused on India’s cultural and economic growth. Leaders from across the globe participated to discuss strategies for economic empowerment aligned with Indian traditions and values.

Respecting Labour and Legacy

CM Yogi’s remarks underscore India’s growing focus on integrating cultural pride with economic progress. With the Ram Mandir symbolizing respect for workers and the reclamation of India’s rich heritage, his speech reflected the nation’s aspirations for a balanced, inclusive future.
