Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 14 : In a significant operation, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has been carrying out raids at multiple locations across the region as part of an ongoing investigation into a terror-related case.
The CIK teams, in coordination with local police forces, have raided various areas in the Udhampur district and Jammu. The operation, which began early on Saturday morning, is linked to a broader investigation into terrorist activities. One of the main focuses of the raids has been the District Jail Mattan in Anantnag, where previous investigations revealed technical signatures that prompted further searches.
As part of the ongoing operation, raids were also carried out in the villages of Sonigam and Chawalgam in the Kulgam district. During the course of the searches, authorities have recovered 6-8 digital devices, including cellphones and tablets. These devices are believed to contain crucial data that may help further the investigation into terror activities in the region.
The CIK operation, which was strategically planned with a search warrant obtained from the competent court, is expanding to various locations, following clues linked to technical signatures found within the District Jail premises. This has raised hopes that the seized devices may offer vital information that can help dismantle terrorist operations and reveal potential connections between these devices and terror groups operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
Although authorities have yet to disclose the full details of the data found on the seized devices, it is anticipated that the information will provide critical leads for further investigation. The operation, which is still ongoing, underscores the security agencies’ commitment to addressing terrorism and disrupting terrorist networks in the region.
The raids mark a significant step forward in the efforts to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. More updates are expected as the investigation continues.
