Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 14: Actor Allu Arjun was visited by close family members, friends, and several Tollywood celebrities at his residence in Jubilee Hills after being granted bail by the Telangana High Court. The actor was arrested a day earlier in connection with the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule, which led to the death of a woman.
After submitting a personal bond of Rs 50,000, Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Central Jail. His release was marked by a wave of support from industry peers and family. His father-in-law, Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, and his father, Allu Arvind, were among the first to offer their support, followed by other notable personalities like actor Vijay Deverakonda, producer Dil Raju, and director Koratala Siva, who arrived at the actor’s residence to show solidarity.
Allu Arjun’s legal team had contested his arrest, leading to his release after spending one night in jail. Addressing the media, the actor expressed gratitude to his fans and supporters, assuring that he was fine and committed to cooperating with the authorities.
“I thank everyone for the love and support. I want to thank all my fans. There is nothing to worry about. I am fine. I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate. I would like to once again express my condolences to the family. It was an unfortunate incident. We are sorry for what happened,” Allu Arjun said.
The arrest followed a tragic incident during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, where a large crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor. Police allege that Allu Arjun’s actions, including waving to the fans from the sunroof of his vehicle, contributed to the chaos that led to the death of a woman named Revathi and left her son injured.
Despite warnings of the growing danger, authorities claim that the actor’s security team did not take prompt action to control the crowd, which allegedly contributed to the unfortunate event. Allu Arjun had earlier expressed his shock over the incident, saying it took him hours to process the news of the tragedy.
Following his release, the actor reiterated that it was an accident and expressed his deep sympathy for the victim’s family, confirming his commitment to supporting them.
The arrest has drawn attention and sparked widespread reactions, with political figures and fellow celebrities coming forward to support Allu Arjun. Among them were Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader KTR, who condemned the arrest, while actors like Rashmika Mandanna and Varun Dhawan also expressed solidarity with the actor.
