Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], December 14 : RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat visited the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday. He was warmly received by Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, who expressed his honor at hosting Bhagwat. The minister emphasized that the protection of Hindu sentiments was a key responsibility of his role.
Ramanarayana Reddy also criticized the previous YSRCP government for alleged conversions that took place during its tenure, asserting that the current government does not support such activities, while respecting all religions. He further echoed statements made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, who advocated for families to have more children.
When asked about the situation in Bangladesh, Reddy stated that while Hindus are not in danger there, they are deprived of certain rights. He affirmed that the Indian government continues to support the issues of Hindus in Bangladesh.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had raised concerns over the treatment of minorities in Bangladesh, highlighting multiple incidents of violence. He confirmed that India has communicated these concerns to Bangladesh and expressed hope for measures to ensure the safety of its minorities.
