New Delhi [India], December 12 : Spiritual leader Sadhguru has expressed his concern over the ongoing disruptions in the Indian Parliament, describing the situation as “disheartening” and calling for a more constructive approach to governance.
In a social media post, the founder of the Isha Foundation emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum in Parliament, particularly as India aspires to be a global model of democracy. “It is disheartening to observe disruptions in the Indian Parliament, especially when we aspire to be a beacon of democracy for the world,” Sadhguru wrote.
Sadhguru also addressed the critical role of India’s business community in the nation’s growth, stating that “the wealth creators and job providers of India should not become subjects of political rhetoric.” He added, “If there are discrepancies, they should be handled within the framework of law, not used as political tools.”
Highlighting the connection between the success of businesses and the prosperity of the Indian economy, Sadhguru warned that continued political gridlock could harm efforts to support entrepreneurship and job creation. “It is most important that Indian businesses thrive. It’s the only way Bharat will become Bhavya Bharat,” he asserted.
These remarks came amid ongoing disruptions in Parliament, where several sessions have been overshadowed by protests, heated debates, and walkouts over various issues, including farmer welfare and allegations of corruption involving the Adani group.
On Wednesday, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned shortly after reconvening, following a tense exchange between opposition and treasury benches over a no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The morning session ended without any substantive business being conducted, and when the session resumed, protests continued, leading to another adjournment.
