New Delhi [India], December 12: Opposition MPs continued their protest against the Centre over the Adani issue on Thursday, holding banners that read, “We will not allow the selling of the country,” outside Parliament.
RJD MP Manoj Jha accused the government of obstructing the Opposition’s ability to raise important issues inside the Parliament. He told, “In a democracy, both the Opposition and the ruling party have roles in the smooth functioning of Parliament. However, the ruling party is not allowing us to raise issues, which is why we are protesting on the Parliament premises.”
Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also joined the protests. On Wednesday, Opposition MPs had staged a unique protest, giving rose flowers and Indian flags to NDA MPs on Parliament grounds.
In response, Union Minister Giriraj Singh held a counter-protest, accusing the Congress leadership of having ties with Hungarian-American billionaire philanthropist George Soros. Singh displayed pictures of Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi alongside Soros.
The political standoff over the alleged links between Congress and Soros caused adjournments in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju condemned the no-confidence motion brought against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar by INDIA bloc parties.
In the Rajya Sabha, Leader of the House and Union Minister JP Nadda raised the issue, claiming that a senior Congress leader had connections to George Soros. Nadda insisted this matter should be discussed in the House, stating that it concerns India’s sovereignty and security.
He further questioned the ties between Sonia Gandhi and Soros, asserting, “This is an issue of national and international security, as well as India’s sovereignty. The relationship between Soros and the senior leadership of Congress must be discussed.”
