Gurugram (Haryana), December 11: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed the recent cotton bomb incidents in Sector-29, Gurugram, stating that the accused, a youth named Sachin, was intoxicated at the time of the act.
“The youth was intoxicated when he threw two cotton bombs in the area. He has been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing,” CM Saini stated during a media interaction.
Incident and Arrest Details
Gurugram Police apprehended Sachin earlier on Tuesday morning after he was caught throwing a cotton bomb. According to preliminary investigations, Sachin had already thrown two cotton bombs and was about to throw two more when the police intervened.
“The accused was arrested along with two live cotton bombs, which were later defused by the bomb disposal team,” the Gurugram Police confirmed. Additionally, a country-made weapon was recovered from Sachin’s possession.
Police Action and Investigation
Vikas Arora, Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, personally inspected the site of the incident. The police bomb disposal team was called to secure the area, ensuring public safety. No casualties or injuries were reported, though minor damage occurred to a scooter and a board in the vicinity.
The Gurugram Police, along with the Crime Branch and Special Task Force (STF), are conducting an intensive investigation to uncover the motive behind the act. “Any new findings during the interrogation will lead to further legal action,” police officials stated.

The incident has caused some concern among local residents, but authorities have assured the public that the situation is under control and all necessary steps are being taken to ensure safety.
