New Delhi [India], December 10: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra responded on Tuesday to BJP’s allegations linking Congress with George Soros, calling the claim “the most ridiculous thing they could come up with.” She accused the BJP of deflecting attention from the Adani issue, which they reportedly do not want to discuss in Parliament.
“They are bringing up something from 1994 that no one has any record of, and no one knows what they are talking about,” she said. “The only reason they are doing this is because they don’t want to discuss the Adani issue.” She also emphasized that despite the opposition’s repeated efforts to discuss the matter, the government continues to avoid it by repeatedly adjourning the House.
Meanwhile, opposition leaders protested in Parliament over the Adani issue. Congress MP Manickam Tagore condemned the government’s actions against the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, and called for the expunging of defamatory remarks. He added that the opposition wanted the Parliament to function properly, but the government was hindering that process.
On the other hand, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claimed that the opposition was suppressing his voice, stating, “My voice is being suppressed… Opposition is not letting me speak… They have always tried to break the nation.”
Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till noon on Tuesday, with little business conducted. Similar adjournments occurred on Monday, when opposition MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, protested the Adani matter. Notably, Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party members were absent from the protest, as was NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule.
