New Delhi [India], December 10: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has accused the BJP-led NDA government of creating chaos in the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, hindering its smooth functioning. Addressing reporters on Monday, Singh alleged that the ruling party is deliberately obstructing parliamentary proceedings.
“The government is not letting the Rajya Sabha function. For the first time in Indian history, the ruling party itself is creating chaos. We demand answers on pressing issues such as the Adani controversy, Sambhal violence, and bomb threats in schools, but the government remains silent,” Singh said.
“If the BJP continues to disrupt proceedings, we will also raise slogans from tomorrow,” he added.
Parliament Adjournments Amid Ongoing Disruptions
Both Houses of Parliament—the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha—were adjourned until Tuesday due to disruptions. The Winter Session, which began on November 25 and is set to run until December 20, has seen repeated adjournments as opposition parties press for discussions on key national issues.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Calls for Unity
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar held a meeting with the Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in an effort to restore order. Dhankhar urged members to honor their constitutional oath and work towards ensuring the nation’s integrity.
“The unity and integrity of the nation must take precedence. Sinister forces and deep state mechanisms are attempting to challenge India’s sovereignty, and it is our collective duty to neutralize these threats,” Dhankhar stated.
He likened these challenges to a more pernicious threat than COVID-19, emphasizing that Parliament must set an example of unity in addressing such adversities.
A Call for Cooperation
With the Winter Session nearing its midway point, the adjournments and lack of legislative progress highlight a growing rift between the ruling and opposition parties. Both sides are expected to meet again to find a resolution and ensure the smooth functioning of Parliament.
