Amit Shah, PM Modi, And Rajnath Singh Pay Tribute On Armed Forces Flag Day, Urge Contributions To Welfare Fund

New Delhi [India]: On Armed Forces Flag Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh honored the sacrifices and valor of India’s armed forces while urging citizens to contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.

Amit Shah’s Tribute

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to the martyrs and acknowledged their supreme sacrifices in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“Tributes to the immortal martyrs of our armed forces on Armed Forces Flag Day. With their valour and patriotism, our martyrs have created everlasting sagas of supreme sacrifice to protect the honour of our nation. My appeal to all to contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund for the welfare of our forces and their families,” he wrote.

On this occasion, Shah was also felicitated by the Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Gujarat State, with a miniature flag.
“My heartfelt thanks to the delegation of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Gujarat State, for felicitating me,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi’s Message

Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the courage and dedication of the armed forces, emphasizing their role in safeguarding the nation.
“Armed Forces Flag Day is about saluting the valour, determination, and sacrifices of our courageous soldiers. Their bravery inspires us, their sacrifices humble us, and their dedication keeps us safe. Let’s also contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund,” PM Modi posted on X.

Contributions from Army and Defence Leadership

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi contributed to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund on behalf of the Indian Army. A post by the Indian Army on X mentioned,
“On the eve of Armed Forces Flag Day, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), contributed towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board, pinned an Armed Forces Flag on COAS on the occasion.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also called upon citizens to contribute generously to the fund. In a statement, Singh highlighted the nation’s collective responsibility to support the welfare of soldiers, both serving and retired, along with their families.

Observed annually on December 7, Armed Forces Flag Day serves as an opportunity to honor the sacrifices of India’s armed forces and mobilize public support for their welfare. Contributions to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund are used for the benefit of veterans, war widows, and their families.
