Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Arun Bharti criticized the opposition on Saturday, accusing them of attempting to discredit the peaceful protest by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants through the alleged infiltration of anti-social elements.
Speaking on the ongoing student protests over the BPSC exam pattern, Bharti emphasized the government’s responsibility to improve examination systems.
“It is the government’s responsibility to improve the different examination systems. BPSC should act to address student concerns. Unfortunately, the opposition, which has become largely irrelevant, tried to defame this peaceful protest by introducing anti-social elements. Playing politics with the future of our youth is unacceptable, and we condemn it,” he said.
The protestors, who include BPSC aspirants, have been demanding that the exams be conducted in a single shift with a uniform paper to avoid the controversial normalization process.
Khan Sir Joins Protest
Renowned educator and YouTuber Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, joined the protest in Patna on Friday. He was briefly detained by the police but later released.
Khan Sir voiced the students’ demands, highlighting the urgency of resolving the issue with only a week left before the examinations. He stated, “We want the BPSC president to assure us that normalization will be removed. The exams should be held in one shift with one paper for all students. This is a non-political movement solely focused on securing fairness for the aspirants.”
Khan Sir emphasized the constitutional right to peaceful protest, urging authorities to listen to the students’ grievances.
NDA’s Strong Groundwork in Bihar
Bharti also praised the efforts of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar, asserting that their initiatives have strengthened their position ahead of the upcoming elections.
“We are visiting every district of Bihar, and it is clear that the NDA alliance is working strongly on the ground. We believe the NDA will fight the upcoming elections from a position of strength,” Bharti added.
Protest’s Core Demand
The students’ protest centers around their demand to abolish normalization—a process used to standardize results across multiple exam shifts. They argue that the policy creates unfair disparities, and the exam should be held in a single shift with a single paper to ensure equality for all candidates.
The protests, which have garnered widespread attention, highlight the critical role of transparent and equitable processes in public examinations, particularly for aspiring civil servants.
