Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 20: The prestigious 72nd Miss World Festival launched its Head to Head Challenge on Tuesday at T-Hub, Hyderabad’s premier innovation and entrepreneurship centre. This globally live-streamed event provides contestants with a platform to showcase their social impact projects, share personal inspirations, and express their visions for a better world.
According to the Information and Public Relations Department of Telangana, the Head to Head Challenge is being conducted in two phases:
- May 20: Americas/Caribbean and Africa
- May 21: Europe/Asia and Oceania
A major highlight of the challenge is the “Beauty With a Purpose” initiative—at the heart of the Miss World mission—where contestants present charitable projects that uplift communities and promote meaningful social change. Those with the most compelling presentations will progress to the next round, inching closer to the Miss World crown.
The Head to Head Challenge is considered one of the most critical and impactful segments of the pageant, emphasizing not just beauty but also intelligence, compassion, and global awareness.
As part of the festival’s activities, all 107 contestants were also given a guided tour of the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) on Sunday. This visit showcased the state’s cutting-edge public safety infrastructure.
Escorted ceremonially by mounted police, the contestants were welcomed with a Pipe Band performance and a spectacular K9 Dog Show, demonstrating the skills of Telangana’s trained canine units. An Arms Exhibition followed, offering a look at advanced weaponry and security gear used by the state police.
Inside the Command and Control Centre, participants were introduced to sophisticated surveillance and emergency response systems that form the backbone of Hyderabad’s public safety network. The TGICCC, also known as the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), integrates real-time data, CCTV feeds, and crisis response systems to enable rapid, coordinated action during emergencies.
This experience underscored Telangana’s commitment to public safety, innovation, and secure tourism, while offering the Miss World contestants a glimpse into India’s technological prowess in governance.
