Dr. Jay Jagannathan, a neurosurgeon at the Jagannathan Neurosurgery Institute, has pointed out five warning symptoms of brain tumors that people typically miss. These indicators range from impaired vision to forgetting things.
The Mayo Clinic says that brain tumors are abnormal cell growths that happen in or around the brain. They can be malignant or not. Some tumors grow slowly, but aggressive brain malignancies can grow quickly, so it’s important to find them early.
“During my years in neurosurgery, I’ve seen patients ignore small signs of a problem, only to find out later that they had a brain tumor.” Dr. Jagannathan remarked on Instagram on September 22 that “early detection can make all the difference.”
5 Signs to Be Careful Of
Dr. Jagannathan says that people shouldn’t ignore small symptoms, even if they seem to be caused by stress. The signs are:
Headaches that keep coming back and feel different from the ones you usually have.
Changes in eyesight, include fuzzy vision, double vision, or loss of peripheral vision.
Changes in thinking, such forgetting things, having trouble focusing, or not being able to find the right words.
Changes in personality or mood, including sudden anger, sadness, or other strange emotional changes.
If you have seizures or strange tingling or numbness, even just once, you should see a doctor.
Dr. Rohit Bansil, the associate director of neurosurgery and neurospine at BLK-MAX Super Speciality Hospital, made a point in an interview with HT Lifestyle in July 2025:
“Every year, almost 40,000 people in India are diagnosed with brain tumors, which is almost 2% of all cancers found. Early detection and therapy are very important for the success of treatment and the chance of survival.
